Develop · through LIRA

Leaders and Home Teams.

Developing the capacity to resolve from inside responsibility — where a leader cannot simply step out of the situation.

Inside responsibility

Leaders can’t stand outside the situation.

A mediator can hold a neutral, contracted position. A leader cannot. They must hold purpose, people, authority, relationships and consequences together, all at once — and still help everyone move. That is the ground where a leader’s resolving capacity has to work.

We develop that capacity close to the real work, where it actually has to be exercised.

What we develop

Identity, Capacity and Maturity.

Formation is more than skills. Through LIRA we develop who a leader is becoming, what they can hold under pressure, and how wisely they use it — formed together into the Visible Presence others experience as trustworthiness.

The Home Team

Capacity forms best in the real unit.

The Home Team are the people who depend on one another to carry shared work and responsibility. We develop the leader and that team together — because resolving capacity holds better when it is built where the work actually happens.

What it includes

Formation, close to the work.

Leadership formation

Identity, Capacity and Maturity developed through real practice, so leaders stay present under pressure.

Difficult conversations

The hardest part of the role — practised until it is something a leader can actually do well.

Mediative Coaching, as a leadership practice

Home Team & organisational development

Developing the leader and the people they depend on together, and the conditions around them.

Our design test

Every offer has to answer four questions.

The same test runs across everything we do. Here is how developing leaders and Home Teams answers it.

What does it form?
Identity, Capacity and Maturity — the capacity to resolve from inside responsibility.
How is it practised?
Formation through real practice, close to the work, with the leader and their Home Team together.
What becomes visible?
Leaders who stay present under pressure, and teams that face difficulty and keep moving.
How is it evidenced over time?
Difficult conversations had, relationships that hold, and capacity that grows with the leader.
The other pathway

Forming those contracted to help others.

Leaders resolve from inside responsibility; practitioners work from a contracted role with greater independence. Same underlying question, different position — see Practitioner pathways.
